DEV POSSIBLE
Dev-possible 2022 was the first project conducted by the Professional Development Avenue of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo School of Computing. This was a series conducted with the aim of honing the knowledge and the skills in version controlling systems and web development targeting the undergraduates in Sri Lanka. A total of three sessions were successfully conducted under this series on the topics, version control with Git and GitHub, client-side web development with HTML, CSS & Java Script and server-side web development with PHP & MySQL. These were conducted by experienced experts in coordination with the dedicated members of the Professional Development Avenue through a virtual platform.
The first session on Version Control using Git and Github was conducted on the 14th of August, 2022 which successfully rendered a solid understanding about version control to the participants. Nandula Perera who is a final year software engineering undergraduate at the University of Colombo School of Computing and the co-founder of the startup, codeJunction delivered this session. The session was concluded successfully with a 200+ participant count.
The second session was based on Client-side Web Development with HTML,CSS and JavaScript. This session was delivered by Harsha Abeyvickrama, a tech-enthusiast who is determined to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies on the 21st of August, 2022. This second session reached a successful conclusion having produced a better idea on front end development among the participants.
After the second session on front-end web development, the Dev-possible series transitioned into divulging the inner workings of back-end web development through its third session. Dalana Dharmathilaka who is a 3rd year undergraduate at the University of Colombo School of Computing and a Software Engineer at AI Team, delivered this session on Server-side Web Development using PHP and MySQL. This final session of the series was successfully conducted on the 28th of August, 2022 which also marked the conclusion of Dev-possible 2022.
The Dev-possible 2022 series which marked the beginning of the journey of the Professional Development Avenue of the Rotaract Club of UCSC received much appreciation and positive feedback from fellow well-wishers. Dev-possible 2022 thus delivered its intention of supporting and empowering a large number of tech-enthusiasts and undergraduates with a sound knowledge on the topics of interest which will undoubtedly be helpful for their professional development.
