The 2nd Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of UCSC

Rotaract, derived from "Rotary in Action," embodies the spirit of service, leadership, and community impact. As the curtains rose on the second installation ceremony at UCSC, it wasn't just an event; it was a vibrant tapestry of young minds woven together by a common goal: to make a positive difference.
On November 22, 2023, the second installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club of UCSC successfully took place at the GAP HQ auditorium. This ceremony marked the initiation for another new chapter of our Rotaract journey, and indeed it was a memorable evening for all the rotaractors who joined us. The Ceremony started with the oil lamp being lit by Sri Lankan customs. The Rotaract Song was played after the National Anthem, Flag Salutation, and Rotaract Invocation.
The much-anticipated part of the ceremony then began with the immediate past president, Rtr. Lavinka Weerasekara, collared and presented the gavel and charter certificate to the incoming president for the RI year 2023-24, Rtr. Adeepa Bandara. The symbolic exchange of official letters from the Immediate Past President to the Incoming President marked a seamless transition in leadership. Afterwards, Rtr. Adeepa Bandara addressed the assembly.
Our distinguished guests added a touch of grace to the ceremony, including Rtn. Samiru Muthugama, President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Downtown, Rtn. PHF. Sohan Perera, the District Rotaract Chair, and Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinghe, the District Rotaract Representative, Rtr. Nimesha Jayamanna, Rtr. Nimna Perera, Rtr. IPP. Elon Newton, and Rtr. PP. Ishini Herath, Assistant District Rotaract Representatives, and Rtr. PP. Chamodya Rathnasuriya, Guide Club Coordinator for 2023-24, and our esteemed counterparts representing various Rotaract Clubs making the evening more memorable.
The installation ceremony also introduced the dynamic Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Rotaract Club at UCSC for the term 2023-24. This diverse team is poised to lead with passion and dedication to make a positive change in the community.
Adding a harmonious note to the evening, our talented Rotaractors showcased their with an unforgettable musical session, infusing the event with artistic flair. Expressing gratitude to representatives from other Rotaract clubs who attended, the event acknowledged the collective effort and commitment of all participants and distinguished guests and the president adjourned the gathering by sounding the Rotaract bell. The Rotaract spirit of fellowship was celebrated, reinforcing the sense of a united community on this day.
